The administration demolished 11 houses of Muslims in Mandla district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh for keeping beef in the refrigerator.
According to media reports, Mandla Superintendent of Police Rajat Saklecha says that there has been a crackdown on illegal activities related to cattle.
He said that it was reported that a large number of cows were taken hostage for the purpose of sacrifice in Nainpur town, around 150 cows were tied in the houses while beef was recovered from the refrigerators. During the raid, the authorities also found cattle skins and bones from the houses.
On the other hand, officials say that the 11 houses that were demolished were built on government land and the area is notorious for beef smuggling.
It should be noted that the extremist Modi government has banned the sacrifice of cows in the holy month of Muslims and the person who slaughters them will be sentenced to 7 years in prison.
