Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema met with World Bank’s South Asia Regional Vice President Martin Riser in which various issues related to Pakistan’s economic development were discussed.
Ahad Khan Cheema welcomed Vice President Martin Riser and thanked the World Bank Group for its continued support and assistance to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, a long-term partnership has been signed between Pakistan and the World Bank.
The Minister of Economic Affairs expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation of the World Bank, the top official of the World Bank expressed satisfaction with the process of economic recovery of Pakistan.
The country partnership framework was exchanged between the federal minister and the vice president of the World Bank. Under the new partnership framework, work will be done on annual reviews and economic reform projects.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to implement key reforms in major sectors to promote sustainable economic growth.
The joint statement of Pakistan and the World Bank has said that determining the main development priorities while economic reforms. Energy and plans to increase agricultural opportunities will be included.
