Rawalpindi: ANF arrested a foreign Nigerian involved in drug smuggling and recovered 38 capsules full of cocaine from his stomach while conducting an operation at Lahore International Airport.
According to the spokesperson of ENF, the accused cleverly evaded the law enforcement agencies from Nigeria and reached Lahore via Dubai. A total of 608 grams of cocaine was recovered from 38 capsules.
The increasing number of cases involving foreigners in drug trafficking is a cause for concern, with Nigerians being the most arrested among foreigners.
The spokesman said that in 2023, 10 cases were registered and 10 Nigerians were arrested, while 4,811 kilograms of drugs were recovered, while this year, 8 Nigerians were arrested in 7 operations and 11,420 kilograms of drugs were recovered.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act and further investigation has been started.
