New Delhi: A terrible fire broke out at the Newborn Baby Care Hospital in the capital of India, scorching dozens of infants.
According to Indian media, the fire in the children’s hospital was so terrible that 9 fire tenders had to be called to extinguish it. After 4 hours of effort, the fire was brought under control.
During the rescue operations, more than a dozen children were transferred to the hospital in a very burnt condition, out of which 7 died during the treatment, while the condition of 3 is said to be critical.
The hospital had no fire extinguishers while the hospital building had no emergency exits. Due to which the number of deaths increased.
The police say that the owner of the hospital, Dr. Naveen, went into hiding fearing arrest, and raids are underway to find him.
The cause of the fire in the hospital could not be determined. The chief minister formed an inquiry committee for the investigation.
It should be noted that 27 people, including children, died in a fire in an indoor gaming zone in the Indian state of Gujarat today.
