KDA Reclaims 2,300 Square Yards of Encroached Land in Karachi After 22 Years
Karachi (Kashif Shamim Siddiqui): Acting on the directives of Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has reclaimed around 2,300 square yards of valuable amenity land in Qasba Township after nearly 22 years of illegal occupation.
The anti-encroachment operation was conducted by KDA’s Estate and Enforcement Department at Amenity Plot No. ST-37/4, known as Aiwan-e-Ittehad Markaz, where illegally constructed small houses and other structures were demolished and the land cleared.
The operation was supervised by Director Estate and Enforcement Syed Zain Ali Shah, with the participation of departmental officers and enforcement staff, following special directives from Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and KDA Director General Zain-ul-Abideen Ansari.
The minister has directed the relevant authorities to take effective measures for the protection and recovery of government and amenity lands, ensuring that properties reserved for public welfare are not allowed to remain under illegal occupation.
KDA chief Zain-ul-Abideen Ansari reaffirmed that the authority would continue its anti-encroachment drive across the city, stressing that public and amenity lands must be protected and utilized for their designated purposes.
The authority maintained that indiscriminate action would continue against illegal occupation to safeguard public assets and citizens’ interests.
