Kaziah Liz Mejo Crowned Miss Universe India 2026 in Jaipur
JAIPUR, August 24, 2026: Nineteen-year-old Kaziah Liz Mejo has been crowned Miss Universe India 2026 after emerging victorious at the national pageant held in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The young beauty queen secured the coveted title at the grand finale, earning the opportunity to represent India at the upcoming Miss Universe competition.
Following her victory, Mejo expressed her determination to carry India’s hopes onto the international stage and bring the Miss Universe crown back to her country.
Speaking about the beginning of her new journey, Mejo said she wanted to start the chapter alongside two people who hold special significance in her life, while expressing gratitude for the support she has received from across India.
The Jaipur event also featured actress and former beauty pageant contestant Urvashi Rautela as a member of the jury.
Rautela used the occasion to reflect on her own pageant journey, recalling the time when she was crowned at the age of around 17 and a half.
She said the memories of that period remain vivid and that sitting alongside Sushmita Sen during the event brought back memories of her early days and her journey in the world of beauty pageants.
According to Rautela, Sen also asked whether she still remembered those moments and her journey, to which she replied that she remembered everything clearly.
With the national title now secured, Kaziah Liz Mejo is set to enter the international spotlight as India’s representative, with the young titleholder aiming to make a strong impression at the global Miss Universe competition.
