PTI Leader Majid Satti Murder Case: Farrukh Khokhar Sentenced to Life Imprisonment by Rawalpindi Court

Rawalpindi: A district court in Rawalpindi has sentenced three accused, including Farrukh Khokhar, in the high-profile murder case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Majid Satti, who was killed in 2022.

Additional Sessions Judge Afshan Ejaz Soofi announced the verdict after concluding the trial. The court awarded life imprisonment to Farrukh Khokhar along with a fine of Rs1 million. Police had already taken Khokhar into custody earlier on Tuesday following court orders ahead of the announcement.

The court also acquitted another accused, Waseem, citing insufficient evidence.

Majid Satti was shot dead on August 8, 2022, near Sixth Road in Rawalpindi. The murder case was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, and the trial continued for nearly four years before reaching its conclusion.

Strict security arrangements were put in place around the district courts during the announcement of the verdict, with a heavy deployment of police personnel to maintain law and order.
