Islamabad: Former Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas has been appointed DG Judicial Wing in the Supreme Court, he retired on March 2.
Nazar Abbas will perform duties in Grade 21 on a contract for 6 months, the Registrar’s Office issued a notification after the approval of the Chief Justice.
Nazar Abbas also had to face a contempt of court case last month, but the notice was later withdrawn.
For the first time, the post of DG Judicial Wing has been created in the Supreme Court. Nazar Abbas will also be given all the privileges and ad hoc relief.
Nazar Abbas will also be entitled to a 1300 cc car and 270 liters of petrol. It has been learned that there is uncertainty among the permanent employees of the Supreme Court on the re-appointments of retired officials.
Several retired officers have been reappointed, most of them from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Registrar Muhammad Saleem Khan, Secretaries of Judicial Commission and Supreme Judicial Council are retired officers.
