The petition requested the Supreme Court to declare that the President does not have unlimited powers to transfer judges under Clause 1 of Article 200.
The petition took the position that judges cannot be transferred from one High Court to another without public interest.
President of Islamabad High Court Bar, Riyat Ali Azad, filed a petition under Article 184/3, five judges of Islamabad High Court have also approached the Supreme Court.
