Lahore: The Governor of Iran’s Mashhad province, Ghulam Hossein Mozaffari, has said that the bilateral trade target of Pakistan and Iran has been set at $10 billion.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider and Iranian Governor of Mashhad, Ghulam Hossein Mozaffari, held a joint press conference in Lahore where Saleem Haider said that I welcome the Governor of Mashhad, Iran is our neighboring and brotherly country and today we met with the Chamber of Commerce and other delegations.
The Punjab Governor said that I recently visited Mashhad to see its services and I requested to abolish the visa fee, we will increase trade between us to $10 billion.
He said that our traders will visit in two months, discussions have been held regarding the exchange of agricultural equipment and a request has been made to reopen meat trade with Iran.
He said that the issues regarding visas will be resolved in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the PPP government, Asif Ali Zardari had started the project. It is complete from Iran’s side, but there is a delay from our side.
Governor Mashhad Ghulam Hussain Mozaffari said that he pays tribute to the efforts of the security forces. A target of $10 billion has been set for Pakistan and Iran.
