There has been a sharp increase in cases of sexual assault against minority women during Narendra Modi’s 10-year rule.
According to international media reports, the honor of minority women has become unprotected during the extremist Modi regime. Sexual violence against minorities, especially Dalit women, has increased. Upper-caste Hindus use sexual assault against Dalit women as a weapon.
The report further states that India’s justice system has failed miserably. Sexual assaulters go unpunished while the victim’s family keeps stumbling for justice. Under Modi’s patronage, Dalits are deprived of justice and rights from India’s judicial system. The mother of the victim of the assault says that because she is a Dalit, upper-caste Hindus sexually assaulted my daughter. The villagers also blamed my daughter for the incident and expelled us from the area. There is no hope of getting justice from the Modi government.
Human rights activists say that the Indian Constitution has laws against sexual assault, but they are not fully implemented. The Indian Supreme Court has failed to provide justice to Dalits. Hundreds of Dalit women have become the targets of Hindu extremists. The increasing incidents of sexual violence against minority women, especially Dalit women, in India prove that women have become unsafe under the Modi government.
