Newly elected US President Donald Trump has been blaming the establishment for his defeat in the last election and has also expressed his intention to remove such military officers during his election campaign.
The international news agency Reuters has claimed that President-elect Donald Trump’s team has started compiling a list of Pentagon officers whom Trump will fire after taking the oath of office.
Reuters has claimed that the list includes the chairman and vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as the heads of the Army, Navy, Air Force and National Guards.
An official close to Trump’s transition team that compiled the lists told Reuters on condition of anonymity that officers close to Trump’s first-term chief of staff Mark Milley are more likely to be fired.
The list is likely to include officers who planned the botched withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, which caused a stir around the world.
It should be noted that Mark Milley’s views on Donald Trump as a fascist leader are no secret.
The surprise appointment of Fox News anchor and former soldier Pat Hegseth as Secretary of Defense by the newly elected Trump also reinforces the idea that Trump wants to see major changes in the Pentagon.
Trump’s appointed Secretary of Defense Pat Hegseth wrote in his book “The War on Warriors: Behind the Trial of the Man” that we need to completely change the senior leadership of the Pentagon so that we are ready to defend our nation and defeat our enemies.
However, experts say that it will not be so easy for Donald Trump to fire the soldiers and it seems very difficult for Trump to approve the list.
