ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says that non-filers will not be able to buy vehicles and properties, difficult decisions will have to be made to improve the economy.
While giving a press conference in Washington, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that there is a need for legal cover related to non-filers and we are doing away with the term non-filers.
He said that since six months we have been working continuously for economic improvement due to which inflation rate and policy rate has decreased in Pakistan, we will bring tax to GDP from 9% to 13%.
Mohammad Aurangzeb said that due to our initiatives, the country is moving towards macroeconomic stability and all the rating agencies are saying that Pakistan is moving in the right economic direction.
He said that there has been a constructive discussion with the IMF and efforts will be made to make the IMF program the last program, the World Bank will not give a loan but a grant to Pakistan.
The finance minister said that he had met with the representatives of the IMF and the World Bank in the United States and also met with the finance ministers of Saudi Arabia and other countries. The business community in the United States wants to invest in Pakistan.
