WASHINGTON: The US Department of Homeland Security has said that illegally staying Indian citizens have been deported through charter flights.

According to the report of NDTV, the US Homeland Security has sent back the illegally staying Indian citizens with the support of Indian intelligence.

Homeland Security said that during fiscal year 2024, the department has deported more than 160,000 people through more than 495 international flights from more than 145 countries.

It was further informed that the department is in contact with foreign governments in this regard to facilitate the return of their citizens as they are residing illegally.

Over the past year, US Homeland Security has deported citizens of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Egypt, Mauritania, Senegal, Uzbekistan, China and India, among others.
