KOLKATA: A special event is being held in Kolkata during this year’s Pujo, in which the famous Globe Cinema will be opened to the public in a new way. The historic cinema hall will reopen in a new look on October 8.
Interestingly, Akshay Kumar has a strong connection with this area and in the year 1984, Akshay worked as a ‘chapadasi’ in a local travel agency and frequented the Globe Cinema to watch movies.
Stadeep Saha, the new organizer of the cinema, has requested Akshay Kumar to attend the function on this memorable occasion.
Saha said that Akshay Kumar had revealed during the promotion of his film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ that he used to work in a travel agency here and used to watch movies at Globe Cinema.
Akshay Kumar has mentioned in several interviews that he used to work in a travel agency in 1984 at the age of 15 or 16 and earned around Rs 150 to 200 per month.
