Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has approved fifty crore rupees for starting certificate programs in nine fields of IT for students and professionals under the poverty reduction program.
The Chief Minister said that under the program, practical training will be given to the certificate holders as per the requirements of the industry. Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Secretary IT Noor Samun and Chairman HEC Professor Tariq Rafi and others were present in the meeting to sign the Memorandum of Understanding. Secretary IT Noor Samu briefed Sindh Chief Minister that NED University will conduct IT courses for Karachi and Tharpar Division. Mehran University will conduct courses for Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas Division and Shaheed Benazirabad while IBA will conduct courses for Sukkur and Larkana Division.
Initially, the program is being started to train 10,000 youth, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah released fifty crore rupees to Sindh IT Department for the program.
The Sindh Chief Minister was told that the courses include Java, Python, Database Administrator, Graphic Designer, E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Web Developer, Mobile Application Developer and Data Science Certificate.
In response to a question, Secretary IT Noor Ahmed Samu said that the duration of the courses will be two months, there will be classes on five days a week i.e. Monday to Friday and each group will consist of three to thirty five participants.
The program will consist of two phases, in the first phase, IT certification, while in the second phase, incentives will be given to smarter students, all the participants will be given face-to-face at the certificate centers.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between IT Secretary Sindh, NED University Karachi, IBA Sukkur and Mehran University Jamshoro.
