KARACHI: Two support staff members of the Canadian women’s football team were sentenced to eight months in prison for spying on the opposing team with the help of a drone camera before the Paris Olympic Games.
43-year-old analyst Joe Lombardi and assistant coach Jasmine Mandir spied on the training session of the New Zealand women’s football team through a drone.
On which both were presented in a court of St. Etienne yesterday where they pleaded guilty, on which they were given a suspended sentence of 8 months in prison.
If they indulge in any such act again during the Games, they will be sent to jail.
