ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has demanded Pakistan to increase the price of electricity by another 5 rupees per unit before July 10.
According to sources, Pakistan wants to take another 8 to 10 billion dollars from the IMF. All the conditions of which have been fulfilled.
The IMF has agreed to lend 6 to 7 billion dollars to Pakistan. The Ministry of Finance also informed the IMF about the new budget measures.
After which the IMF demanded to increase the price of electricity by another 5 rupees per unit before July 10.
It is no longer necessary for the IMF team to come to Pakistan for the loan program agreement. Staff-level negotiations on the loan program took place in May and the final approval of the IMF loan program will be given by the Executive Board.
