In India, the issue of leaking exam papers has become very serious, with the government announcing jail terms and fines.
The central government has enacted a special law in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi after the year-long exam preparation students and their parents protested over the leak of exam papers.
Now, if anyone is caught leaking the paper of any major exam, including competition, he will face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of Rs 1 crore.
Under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Inferior Men) Act, 2024, cases of leaking of papers in examinations for higher administrative posts will be investigated and strict legal action will be taken against those guilty of leaking papers.
Students and parents said that the copying mafia is destroying the rights of lakhs of hardworking and honest students and as a result unqualified people are reaching high positions.
