Lahore: The Judicial Court discharged journalist and anchor Imran Riaz from the case of breach of trust.
The case of breach of trust was heard against journalist Imran Riaz. Nishtar Colony police station produced journalist Imran Riaz in court on completion of one-day physical remand. Lawyers Ali Ashfaq and Azhar Siddique presented arguments on behalf of Imran Riaz.
The court dismissed the case filed against Imran Riaz and ordered his release, however, the police arrested journalist Imran Riaz in another case.
The police have registered a case of interference with the car traffic on Police Station Sarwar Road against Imran Riaz, it is said in the FIR that Imran Riaz along with his colleagues interfered with the car traffic at the check post at Lahore Airport.
Order for recovery of witness in Imran Riaz trial
The Lahore High Court ordered Dr. Arshad, the witness of the case registered against Imran Riaz, to be produced in the court yesterday.
In the Lahore High Court, a hearing was held on the petition of habeas corpus for the recovery of Dr. Arshad, a witness in the case registered against journalist and anchor Imran Riaz, in which the IG Punjab and others have been made parties.
The judge ordered the recovery of Dr. Arshad by tomorrow and said that the Advocate General Punjab and the Prosecutor General Punjab should ensure the implementation of the court orders.
Azhar Siddiq Advocate said that Dr. Arshad reached the Model Town court to record the statement in the case of Imran Riaz, the police prevented Dr. Rashid from reaching the court and kept him in custody. Rashid appeared as a witness, the kidnapped Dr. Rashid is neither aware of the plaintiff’s case nor does he know Imran Riaz.
