KARACHI: Due to the clash between the schedules of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL), the counties were also disturbed.
According to details, due to the Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board is forced to move forward the PSL dates which directly conflict with the IPL. The next season of the Pakistan Super League is likely to be played from April 7 to May 20, the current edition of the Indian League was held from March 22 to May 26, with a slight difference in the same window in 2025, where the PSL And the IPL dates are clashing there.
This will have a direct impact on the opening 2 months of the county season. A total of 35 top English cricketers are likely to feature in the PSL and IPL, thus the championship matches will not feature experienced players.
On the other hand, a large number of English cricketers are also feared to be limited to the white ball. There is already a possibility of tension with their county clubs for English cricketers who want to participate in the PSL next year. The agreement allows players to be released only for the IPL during the championship.
English cricketers who do not play in the Indian league are participating in the championship, but are keen to play in the PSL next year, including Jordan Cox, James Vince, Dean Lawrence, Lewis de Ploy, Ollie Stan and Tom Koehler-Cadmore. They had also participated in the recent PSL, they will face resistance from their clubs in getting NOC for Pakistan League next year.
