ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Imports of mobile phones and telecom products recorded a 438% year-on-year increase in the first 10 months of the financial year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, during the period from July 2023 to April 2024, foreign exchange expenditure of 57.13 million dollars was spent on imports of mobile phones, which is 438 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
On the other hand, a 76.23% increase in rice exports from the country was recorded on an annual basis during the last ten months.
According to the data, during the period from July to April 2024, the country earned $3.063 billion in foreign exchange from rice exports, which is 76.23 percent higher than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Moreover, in the 10 months of the current financial year, an increase of more than 2 billion dollars was recorded in the exports of food products.
