Lahore: PDMA Punjab has issued a heat wave alert this month, the temperature is likely to go up to 45 degrees in May.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature is likely to go up to 43 degrees Celsius today, while there is a severe risk of heat wave in the major cities and plains of Punjab from May 21 to 27.
District administrations across Punjab have been informed about the weather situation.
DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia directed that never burn crop residues, strict legal action will be taken against the violators. The administration should ensure the supply of clean water at public places.
DG Irfan Ali Kathia said that provision of first aid related to heat stroke should be ensured in hospitals and mobile health units, public should also be careful from heat and cold. Arrange to avoid working loos in the afternoon.
Wear light-colored clothes and cover your head, take special care of children and the elderly, avoid unnecessary travel.
