Islamabad: The government has made preparations to impose an additional burden of 310 billion rupees on electricity consumers.
CPPA filed a request for determination of power purchase price for the next financial year. The basic electricity tariff is likely to increase by Rs 5 per unit. Nepra will hear the CPPA plea on May 23.
CPPA presented seven power purchase price scenarios. The power purchase price was estimated from Rs 25 3 paise to Rs 27 11 paise per unit. After approval, the power purchase price burden will reach Rs 58.3 trillion.
