The Lahore High Court stopped the distribution of electric bikes to students by the Punjab government till Monday.
The Lahore High Court has made the drawing of electric bikes subject to the court order. The court sought the details of giving electric bikes to the students from the Punjab government.
The court called for a report and said that how many electric bikes are being distributed in which cities?
On this occasion, Justice Shahid Karim while giving remarks said that the students should be attracted towards public transport. If students are given electric bikes, they will do one-wheeling.
Justice Shaheed Karim further said that the students will go outside the girls’ educational institutions.
It should be noted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had decided to give electric bikes as well as petrol bikes to the students. To reduce the burden on the students, the down payment was reduced to 25 thousand and the monthly installment was reduced from 25 thousand.
