Islamabad: Electricity distribution companies have requested to collect additional Rs 51 billion 88 crores from the consumers, after which there is a fear that electricity will become more expensive.
The request has been made for the third quarter adjustment of the current financial year, Nepra will hear the request on May 17.
In the application, the electricity distribution companies have requested to receive 31 billion 34 crore rupees in the form of capitation charges, in which 5 billion 57 crore rupees have been requested in the form of operations and maintenance.
If the application is approved, the cost of electricity will also apply to the electricity consumers, but the final decision on approval will be taken after the Nepra hearing.
