New Delhi: A 32-year-old mother threw her 6-year-old mute and deaf son into a crocodile-infested canal after enduring daily taunts.
According to Indian media, after receiving information about this horrific incident in the state of Karnataka, the next day, the police recovered the body of the mute child Vinod from the canal, who had deep wounds on his hands and feet.
The police arrested the child’s mother, 32-year-old Savitri and father, 36-year-old Ravikumar.
The mother says that her husband used to taunt her about the birth of a mute child every day and said the same thing yesterday that the child should be thrown away somewhere.
Savitri further said in the statement that I was fed up with these quarrels, so yesterday when my husband quarreled again and asked me to throw the child somewhere, I pushed my son into the canal in anger.
The police produced the ruthless parents in the court. The judge handed over the couple to the police on 15-day remand.
