International Workers’ Day is being celebrated today across the world, including Pakistan.
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to the historic struggle of the workers on International Workers’ Day.
In his statement, President Asif Zardari said that the working class is facing challenges like inflation and unemployment. The state has an important role to play in implementing policies to end the exploitation of workers.
The President said that it is hoped that the federal and provincial governments will play a role for the rights of workers.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his message that workers are shedding blood and sweat for the development of Pakistan. Inflation has affected the labour class the most, will hold a national labour conference soon on the rights of workers.
Shahbaz Sharif said that for the recovery of the economy one has to work hard consistently.
