Karachi: On the recommendation of Sindh Governor, University of Karachi convened a meeting to approve the awarding of an honorary PhD degree to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, during his visit to Pakistan.
The recommendation of the University of Karachi to give an honorary degree of PhD to the Iranian President was made by the Chancellor of Public Universities of Sindh and the Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori as the Chancellor and in this regard the University of Karachi also received a formal letter from the Governor of Sindh. done
A day ago, the Governor of Sindh also held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi in this regard. After receiving the letter, the University of Karachi called an emergency meeting of its syndicate in connection with awarding the honorary degree of PhD to the Iranian President.
It should be remembered that President Ibrahim Raisi is coming to Karachi on the occasion of his visit to Pakistan on April 23 and on this occasion, there is a possibility of holding a special convocation at Governor House Sindh on the same day.
University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi told “Express” that an emergency meeting of the syndicate has been called on Saturday at 3 pm in this regard, a one-point agenda is being issued to the members of the syndicate and after the approval of the syndicate, Irani President Ibrahim Raisi will be presented with an honorary certificate by Chancellor/Governor Sindh H.D.
It should be noted that the recent visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to Pakistan is very important. He is the first head of state to visit Pakistan after the formation of a new government in the current country.
