ISLAMABAD: FBR has sent to Prime Minister for summary approval of complimentary cards to encourage high tax payers.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has approved the summary of the list of names of sixty-five large taxpayers for the issuance of special incentives and honor cards to promote the tax culture in the country and to encourage large tax payers. After the approval of the Prime Minister, these 65 major taxpayers will be issued complimentary cards in the first phase.
A senior officer of FBR says that the plan to give Pakistan honorary card by the Federal Board of Revenue was made in 2012 and 2013 during the government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and working in this regard was also done but it was not implemented. Sources say that the scheme which has been introduced now is the same scheme of 2012-13 which has been fine-tuned according to the contemporary requirements.
According to sources, on the direction of the Prime Minister, the Federal Board of Revenue has completed the work to provide incentives to the top 65 exporters and tax payers under this scheme and now 65 have been selected by the FBR for the honor card. The individuals include traditional and non-traditional suppliers, companies, individual tax payers and SMEs for which the FBR has sent a summary to the Prime Minister and after the Prime Minister’s approval, the FBR has issued them honorary cards. will
Under this scheme, the recipients of the Pakistan Honorary Card will get an official passport in addition to VIP privileges at immigration counters, airports and all relevant institutions will be obliged to give privileges to the highest taxpayers approved by the Prime Minister. will be invited to the Prime Minister’s annual dinner.
