KARACHI: The Islamabad High Court adjourned the hearing on the application of registration case against two journalists including General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, General (retd) Faiz Hameed for breaking the legal barrier, being negligent and misrepresenting various events. Kurdi and directed the petitioner to place on record the request made to the FIA for action.
Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq heard the petition of citizen Atif Ali. Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner and said that the application was made to the FIA and they are bound to conduct an inquiry. The Chief Justice remarked that if there is anything in the application, he will take action.
The Deputy Attorney General told the court that despite General Retired Qamar Javed, FIA has not received any request to take action against General Retired Faiz Hameed and journalists. Raja Rizwan Abbasi insisted that the request was received at the FIADG office.
On behalf of the journalist, Hafiz Arafat advocate appeared in the court and said that the application was not sent to the FIA, its copy was not even attached with the petition, I do not know how this petition was scheduled for hearing here?
The Chief Justice said that this matter was not told before today, if it has been told now, then give them a chance. The court asked the petitioner’s counsel to provide us with a copy of the application in this regard, after which the hearing was adjourned.
