Cape Town: An international team of astronomers discovered 49 galaxies in just 3 hours with the help of the MeerKAT radio telescope in South Africa.
According to media reports, these amazing discoveries have been made by the Inter-University Institute of Data Intensive Astronomy (IDIA). The team was led by the International Center for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) researcher Marcin Glowecki, who initially looked for star-forming gas in a galaxy but then examined the data. Explore other galaxies.
A total of 49 galaxies were detected, he added. This is a great example of how fantastic an instrument like MeerKAT is for finding stars and galaxies.
He said that I did not expect to find so many galaxies in such a short time. Various techniques were used to find the galaxies after which we were able to detect all these galaxies and show their gas content.
