National cricketer Babar Azam was once again made the captain of the Pakistan team in the white ball format.
In a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it has been said that after a meeting with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Babar Azam has been re-assigned the leadership of the green shirts in the T20 and ODI formats.
Babar Azam resigned from the captaincy of all three formats due to the poor performance of the national team in the ICC ODI World Cup last year, after which the PCB appointed Shaheen Afridi as T20 and Shan Masood as the Test captain. No decision was made regarding the captaincy.
Shaheen Afridi, on the other hand, was given the opportunity to lead in just one T20 series after being given the captaincy, in which Pakistan lost 1-4 to New Zealand.
It should be noted that Babar Azam has represented Pakistan in 52 Tests, 117 ODIs and 109 T20 matches, while he has the honor of captaining the Pakistani team in 71 T20 matches including the T20 World Cup.
Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Pakistan won 42 matches and the Green Shirts faced defeat in 23.
