Karachi: The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Election Commission, Advocate General and Deputy Attorney General on the petition of PTI candidate Saif Bari against not issuing notification of the success of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi heard the petition of PTI-backed candidate Saif Bari against not issuing the notification of the successful candidate for PS 129.
Counsel for the petitioner submitted that as per Form 45, Saif Bari has passed from PS 129. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said in front of the people that he has not succeeded from this constituency. Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has not submitted Form C related to his election expenses. The Election Commission should be ordered to issue notification of successful candidate on PS 129. So that we can approach the Election Tribunal against the notification of the Election Commission.
The court issued notices to the Election Commission, Advocate General and Deputy Attorney General and asked the parties to respond by April 9.
