Islamabad: The Prime Minister expressed his anger over the recent increase in gas prices and called for an audit report.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif issued orders to the Ministry of Energy to complete 16 tasks in one to three months. The Prime Minister directed to submit a forensic audit report on the recent hike in gas prices within a month.
Shahbaz Sharif expressed his anger over the recent increase in gas prices and decided to review the performance of OGRA and gas companies and asked for a detailed report on gas infrastructure, gas theft and poor performance of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project in 3 months. Directed to immediately establish an inter-ministerial commission for monitoring.
The Prime Minister also asked for a plan to develop new industrial zones to utilize the surplus electricity in a month. He also directed the Power and Petroleum Division to prepare a revolving credit solution within 2 weeks.
