For the presidential elections to be held in Iran on June 28, the Iranian Shura Nighaban declared 6 candidates qualified, but did not allow former president Ahmadinejad.
According to the Iranian media, the presidential candidates include Mohammad Baqir, Saeed Jalili, Ali Reza Zakani, Masoud Al-Badzikian, Amir Hossein Qazizada and Mustafapour Mohammadi. Eligible candidates will now start the presidential campaign.
Former Iranian President Ahmadinejad was not allowed to run for office, having previously not been allowed to participate in the 2021 presidential election.
It should be noted that the presidential elections in Iran were supposed to be held in 2025, but after the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter accident, the presidential elections are being held early.
