Lahore: New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 4 runs in the second T20 match in a row.
In response to New Zealand’s 178 runs in the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, the Pakistan team scored 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
From Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman played a brilliant innings of 61 runs, but apart from him, none of the batsmen could stay long in front of the Kiwi bowlers.
Iftikhar Ahmed scored 23 runs, Saim Ayub scored 20 runs, Usman Khan scored 16 runs, Shadab Khan scored 7 runs and Babar Azam scored 5 runs. Abbas Afridi scored one run.
Imad Wasim was not out on 22 and Mohammad Amir was not out with one run, William O’Rourke 3, Ben Sears 2, Michael Bracewell and James Neesham 1 wicket each for New Zealand.
Earlier Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to field. Batting first, New Zealand scored 178 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Tim Robinson scored 51, Tom Blundall scored 28, Dan Foxcroft scored 34 while Michael Bracewell scored 27.
For Pakistan, Abbas Afridi got 3 wickets, Mohammad Amir, Zaman Khan, Osama Mir and Iftikhar Ahmed got one wicket each.
Five changes were made in the Pakistan team for the fourth T20 match. Imad Wasim replaced Irfan Niazi, Fakhar Zaman replaced Mohammad Rizwan and Osama Mir replaced Abrar Ahmed.
Mohammad Amir and Zaman Khan, who sat on the bench in the third T20I, were also included in the playing XI, while Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah were rested.
In the series consisting of 5 matches, the Kiwi team has won 1-2 while one match was canceled due to rain.
The fifth and final match of the series is scheduled for April 27 in Lahore.
