KARACHI: In the year 2023, the bank provided more than one billion 26 crore relief to the customers.
Banking Ombudsman Pakistan Sirajuddin Aziz while addressing a press conference on the occasion of the release of the 2023 report at the Institute of Bankers on Monday said that the cooperation and information of State Bank, NADRA and PTA to prevent fraud in the banking sector. It is possible to reduce fraud in the banking sector by conversion, employees of related departments in all banks have been found involved in fraud.
He said that if the above mentioned three institutions are united, fraud in the banking sector can be reduced. He suggested that other punishments can be imposed by freezing the national identity card, bank accounts of the elements involved in the fraud.
He said that the Banking Ombudsman of Pakistan resolved 25,493 complaints against commercial banks in 2023 and provided relief of more than one billion 26 crore rupees to the affected bank customers.
