The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched the 13th consignment of aid to the war-affected people of Gaza and Lebanon.
According to the spokesman, on the instructions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, NDMA is continuing to provide humanitarian aid to the people affected by the war in Gaza and Lebanon. The goods sent from Pakistan to Oman (Jordan) include 100 tons of winter tents and blankets.
A total of 1,381 tonnes of relief goods have been dispatched from Pakistan to the affected people of Gaza and Lebanon. In this regard, Parliamentarian Barrister Aqeel Malik, Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan Zaheer MH Darzeed, representatives of NDMA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Armed Forces were present in the ceremony of departure of relief goods at the airport.
During the event, the attendees emphasized the need to provide immediate aid to the war-affected populations of Palestine and Lebanon, keeping in mind the ongoing conflicts and the needs of the affected communities. He reiterated the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to help our brothers and sisters in distress and emphasized the importance of the cooperation of humanitarian organizations and the people of Pakistan to strengthen these efforts.
The Palestinian Ambassador expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Pakistan for their unwavering support for Gaza and the generous humanitarian aid. He said that solidarity in this difficult time is a ray of hope and proof of the enduring bond between our nations.
He further said that humanitarian aid from Pakistan is not just a lifeline of essential goods but a powerful message of sympathy and unity. So far, Pakistan has sent a total of 12 shipments containing 1281 tons of relief goods to Gaza and Lebanon. Of these, 10 shipments (1,151 tons) were sent to Gaza, while 2 aid shipments (130 tons) were sent to Lebanon.
Apart from this, 71 Pakistani citizens were sent for safe evacuation from the war-torn area.
According to the spokesperson, the Government of Pakistan has also established a special account called Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon. The purpose of this fund is to collect public donations to help those in Gaza and Lebanon who are facing war emergencies.
