Islamabad: During the last financial year 2023-24, the domestic production of edible oil in the country was recorded at 640,948 metric tons with an increase of 13.20%.
In this regard, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in the fiscal year 2022-23, the domestic production of edible oil in the country was recorded as five hundred sixty-six thousand and forty-two metric tons, which is an increase of six percent in the fiscal year 2023-24. One hundred and forty thousand nine hundred and forty eight metric tons.
It is further reported that in June 2023, the production of 56109 metric tons of edible oil in the country is 1.44% higher than May 2023 and 2.91% higher than June last year.
55314 metric tons of edible oil was produced in the country in May and 54520 metric tons of edible oil in June last year. According to the statistics, 1494476 metric tons of Banaspati ghee was produced in the country in the fiscal year 2024, which is 4.14% less than the fiscal year 2023.
In fiscal year 2023, 1559059 metric tons of edible oil was produced in the country. In June, 124737 metric tons of Banaspati Ghee were produced in the country, which is 0.77 percent less than June and 4.53 percent less than last year’s June. 125699 metric tons in the country in May and June last year. 130651 metric tons of banaspati ghee was produced.
