Zong Launches Smart Waste Management Stations with ISPES
ISLAMABAD, September 20, 2026: Zong, Pakistan’s leading technology services enterprise, has partnered with ISP Environmental Solutions (ISPES) to launch PecoDrop, a first-of-its-kind smart waste management station initiative aimed at promoting technology-driven recycling and workplace sustainability.
The smart recycling stations will be deployed across Zong facilities to facilitate the segregation and recovery of recyclable plastic, paper and metal at the point of disposal. The initiative is designed to reduce recyclable waste entering landfills while encouraging more responsible consumption and disposal practices.
At the core of PecoDrop is a digitally enabled waste management system that records material deposits, volumes and collections, creating a traceable data chain from disposal through recovery. The initiative reflects Zong’s broader efforts to use technology to address environmental and social challenges and generate measurable impact.
Under an integrated rewards mechanism, Zong employees will earn Credits for depositing recyclable materials. Employees will be able to digitally track their contributions and redeem accumulated rewards, making recycling more engaging and measurable while encouraging greater environmental responsibility in the workplace.
Commenting on the initiative, Zong’s Head of Strategy and Company Spokesperson, Nabila Yazdani, said that sustainability is embedded in the company’s operations, value creation and everyday choices.
“PecoDrop demonstrates how technology, data and employee participation can come together to create a smarter and more measurable approach to waste management,” she said, adding that technology can serve not only as an enabler of connectivity but also as a tool for sustainable operations, responsible resource use and positive environmental and social impact.
ISPES CEO Dr. Zillay Maryam said the partnership goes beyond establishing collection points and focuses on building the first mile of a circular economy.
“By deploying smart, tech-integrated segregation systems, we ensure that waste separation begins at the precise point of disposal, enabling the complete recovery and recycling of sorted materials,” she said.
The partnership, launched in conjunction with World Cleanup Day, reflects Zong’s commitment to making sustainability an everyday and measurable workplace practice. Through technology, data, employee participation and circular-economy principles, the initiative aims to support waste reduction, responsible consumption and more sustainable workplace practices.
