Karachi: Shane Watson suggested Sarfaraz Ahmed to take a break from leadership.
In an exclusive interview to Pakistan Cricket’s biggest website www.cricketpakistan.com.pk, Nadeem Umar said that Sarfaraz is always in our hearts, he has a big part in the success of Quetta Gladiators, he led the team for 8 years. K, Pakistan team, Karachi and our club have always performed their duties with excellence, there is no ambiguity in their leadership skills, but unfortunately the performance of the franchise has been up and down in the last 3-4 years, they say the team is good then. The captain performs well, this time the team is good.
He said that now our new coach Shane Watson has come to Pakistan, he thinks that Sarfraz should be given a break from the leadership, we have not made a final decision yet, the possible replacement Riley Russo has not taken the leadership of any team. That’s why we are confused, whether Sarfaraz is the captain or not this team will be his, if he feels satisfied then we will take a decision.
Nadeem Umar said that we have left this decision to Sarfaraz and Watson, as the performance of the team has been, people also want some changes, we have made enough changes, I am happy that Sir Vivian Richards Coming, Russo is back in the team, if Kevin Pietersen also comes then the core team of Quetta will return which performed very well, everyone will get an answer in 2 days regarding Sarfraz.
To a question, he said that both Shane Watson and Moeen Khan will be present in our dugout during the HBLPSL, but we will give complete freedom to Watson to do whatever he wants.
