ISLAMABAD: During the hearing on the petition regarding the results of NA-55 Rawalpindi, the Chief Election Commissioner said that those making the allegations of rigging should present evidence.
Chief Election Commissioner and Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan appeared before the Election Commission for the hearing of the case, the successful candidate from NA-55 Abrar Ahmed.
The lawyer of the successful candidate said that the Returning Officer has issued the final result of NA-55, the Election Commission should dismiss the application as inadmissible, the matter may be referred to the Election Tribunal for further investigation.
Advocate Basharat Raja said that according to media reports, Basharat Raja was winning from NA-55.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that the Election Commission should also present evidence on the basis of media reports alleging non-decision, rigging and alteration of results. Lawyer Bisharat Raja said that the evidence is with the Election Commission, open Form 45 and see that milk will be milk and water will be water.
The Election Commission reserved its decision on the application related to NA-55 Rawalpindi.
