President Asif Ali Zardari has said that on Independence Day, pledge to work for the development of the people and make Pakistan a prosperous country.
On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan, the President of the State congratulated the Pakistani nation in his message. He said that in order to deal with the current challenges, differences have to be worked out. There is a need to work determinedly for national unity, integrity and economic stability.
Asif Ali Zardari said that Independence Day is the peak of the historical political struggle of Indian Muslims for the right of self-determination. The creation of Pakistan through peaceful and democratic struggle is an unprecedented chapter in history.
He said that one has to work wholeheartedly in the rule of law, stability of democratic institutions and public interest. Tribute to the leaders, workers and their ancestors of Tehreek-e-Pakistan who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan.
The President said that the country has been blessed with innumerable human and natural resources, it is our responsibility to utilize the resources for public welfare. The nation has many expectations from us, we should try to fulfill the public aspirations.
He further said that according to the decree of the Quaid-i-Azam, all attention should be focused on the welfare of the people and the poor. To make Pakistan a great country, we have to invest in youth and women.
