OGDC Hosts ’ Workshop on National Mineral Development Policy:
Islamabad :OGDC hosted a Stakeholders’ Consultative Workshop on the Draft National Mineral Development Policy 2025, bringing together representatives from across the mining ecosystem.
The workshop was attended by representatives from the mining industry, officials from federal and provincial governments, academics from various universities, mine owners’ associations, and other stakeholders, both in person and through virtual participation. The forum provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue on the future direction of Pakistan’s minerals sector. Participants underlined Pakistan’s vast and largely untapped mineral potential.
Stakeholders were informed that extensive consultations with academia and industry have already been carried out during the formulation of the Draft National Mineral Development Policy 2025. It was shared that stakeholder workshops have been conducted nationwide and detailed briefings held with provincial governments to ensure broad-based ownership of the policy.
The draft policy aims to enhance transparency, ensure security of tenure, reduce bureaucratic hurdles and act as an enabler for world-class mining practices.
