ISLAMABAD: The final round of negotiations between Pakistan and the IMF on the preparation of the Staff Level Agreement and Letter of Intent is underway.
Finance Ministry officials say that negotiations with the IMF are progressing positively. There are no deadlocks or obstacles in the success of negotiations.
According to the sources of the Ministry of Finance, the letter of intent will be discussed with the IMF mission, the draft of the Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policies will be finalized, and upon the success of the negotiations, there will be a staff level agreement between Pakistan and the IMF.
Officials say that Pakistan has successfully met the IMF’s quarterly targets, the government has taken timely and serious steps to meet the IMF’s targets and the IMF has assured the continuation of economic reforms.
