Iran Says Ceasefire Understanding with US Is Over After Fresh American Strikes
TEHRAN, July 13: Iran has declared that any ceasefire understanding with the United States has effectively ended following a fresh wave of American military strikes, accusing Washington of destroying months of diplomatic engagement.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the latest US attacks, describing them as a clear breach of the United Nations Charter, international law, and Iran’s national sovereignty. The ministry said the strikes have undermined all diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions in the region.
The remarks came after the US Central Command announced another round of operations targeting Ira nian military assets. According to the US military, the strikes were intended to further reduce Ira n’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway vital to global energy supplies.
Rejecting the American justification, Tehran argued that Washington’s actions have sabotaged regional peace initiatives and intensified instability across the Middle East. Iranian officials also accused the United States of interfering in Ira n’s security measures related to the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
The Foreign Ministry warned that continued US military involvement could disrupt international shipping routes, create new security risks, and negatively impact global trade.
Regional analysts believe the growing confrontation between Ira n and the United States could have far-reaching consequences for Middle Eastern stability, international diplomacy, energy markets, and global maritime commerce.
