California: Android phone users will soon be given the facility to edit their messages by Google.
Details regarding an expected update to Google Messages (Android’s default messaging app) have surfaced in an online leak.
Technology company Apple had introduced the facility to edit messages in iOS 16, the rival operating system of Android. But Google hasn’t done anything to make this feature a part of Messages so far.
However, now gadget blog The SP Android has presented evidence of testing the message context editing feature in the beta test version of Google Messages.
To use this feature of Google Messages, one has to hold down the message in the chat box for some time after which a pencil icon appears.
After pressing the pencil icon, a box named ‘Editing Message’ appears in which the message can be edited. After editing, the send button is pressed, which takes effect.
