KARACHI: The former national cricketers took the selection committee for their exclusion from the opening round in the T20 World Cup.
Former chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq criticized the current selection committee on his YouTube channel and said that the lack of specialized middle-order batsmen in the current team was acutely felt, which led to the team’s early exit from the showpiece event. There is no style of team selection, all the openers from number 1 to number 5 were selected, it is a shame that we could not find any authentic batsmen in the middle order.
He also referred to the disappointing performance of the Pakistani team in the Asia Cup. He said that we were also unsatisfactory in the regional event, where we failed to reach the final. Only one of them was won. Our struggle was not limited to the T20 World Cup. We had similar problems in the Asia Cup. We did not see the team perform as a unit.
