China has warned India that the deployment of more troops on the Himalayan border is a threat to peace in the region.
According to the World News Agency, Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, has warned India that the deployment of more troops on the Himalayan border will not reduce the tension in the region, but will further increase it.
Chinese spokesperson Mao Ning added that China is committed to working with India to safeguard the peace and stability of the border areas, but we believe that India’s behavior is not conducive to reducing tensions.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry further said that increasing the deployment of Indian troops in the border areas would sabotage efforts to calm the situation or maintain peace and security in these areas.
It may be noted that India has deployed troops along the Himalayan border even as it recently agreed to maintain military and diplomatic dialogue with China to resolve border issues.
However, India has now deployed 10,000 more troops along its 532 km long disputed border with China in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
It should be noted that there is a 3800 km long common border between India and China, most of which is poorly demarcated. In mid-2020, 20 Indian and 4 Chinese soldiers were killed in clashes in the area.
